River Trip August 2010

Larmon and Renee' and their two girls, Emily and Kyla, were visiting so we decided to head to the river to see them.  It was such a nice visit.  Kelsey got to go fishing, Owen swam in the river for the first time, and Joe caught a 34 pound catfish on a trot line.  Of course, we don't have a picture of that big fish but we do have one of the smaller ones that he caught.

The first night at the river, Joe took Kelsey, Owen and me back to the camp while he stayed down at Shelby's visiting.  I put Owen in the bathtub without his bath seat and he wants to stand up.  I keep putting him back on his bottom but he just insists on standing.  So, to keep him from hurting himself on the faucet, I turn him to the back of the tub and he immediately gets on all fours.  I think, "Oh, that's probably okay."  No sooner than that thought crosses my mind, down he goes....

Of course he starts crying so Kelsey comes in to see about him.  When I tell that he cut his eye she starts crying.  I just need someone else to look at it to make sure he is okay so we start walking.  Did I say this is around midnight????  Anyway, Kelsey, Owen and I get a flashlight and we walk down the dirt road to Shelby's.  I think the guys were surprised to see us coming, we must have been a sight!

Owen loved the river!  He was like a sea turtle once that hatch.  He kept crawling directly to the water and didn't stop.  His face would go under and he kept crawling!  I don't think he is going to be afraid of anything.

This is not the big fish but impressive none the less!
